This is a high-quality print of an original painting, professionally printed with pigmented inks on Somerset Velvet rag paper.
The original painting is titled "Zine Archive Publishing Project (ZAPP)" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Capitol Hill I Remember." and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Seattle I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Seattle establishment.
ZAPP was a volunteer-driven project that collected and archived over 30,000 zines in the basement of the Richard Hugo House’s original location on 11th Ave. & E. Olive St. ZAPP started around 1996 and closed in 2013. The collection was donated to the Seattle Public Library in 2017.
I created the original painting in 2017 with beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: old maps, pieces of antique mail and other found and salvaged collage elements. The original painting has sold.
