The original painting is titled "Chubby & Tubby on Rainier" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Seattle I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Seattle gathering spot. Chubby & Tubby was a hardware & variety store that was in Seattle from 1947-2003. As a teenager in the 1990’s, my friends and I would buy our Converse there.
I created the original painting in 2025 with beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: old maps, pieces of antique mail, and other found and salvaged collage elements. The original painting has sold.
