The original painting is titled "Hardwick & Son's Hardware" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Seattle I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Seattle establishment. Hardwick’s was an iconic hardware store in the University District that was known for it’s jam-packed shelves, huge array of specialty tools, and used furniture section. Hardwick’s closed in 2020.
I created the original painting in 2025 with beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: old maps, pieces of antique mail, and other found and salvaged collage elements. The original painting is available here!
