This piece was inspired by time I spent in Mexico and Guatemala, studying Spanish and learning about indigenous struggles for justice & autonomy.
The original painting was made with beeswax, oil paint, graphite, and salvaged materials: heavily used maps of Mexico and Guatemala, sheet music, ticket stubs, and other special found collage elements. The original painting has sold.
