The original painting is titled "Condos Suck, Pony 4 Eva" and is part of my series of mixed-media paintings, "The Capitol Hill I Remember." Each painting in this series depicts a beloved old Seattle establishment. This image depicts Pony (“Seattle’s most popular gay dive bar”) in its original location on East Pine Street, soon before it was torn down along with every small business on the 500 block of East Pine Street in Seattle.
I created the original piece in 2016 using beeswax and photocopy transfer. The photograph incorporated into the piece was taken by my friend Simon Adriane Ellis.
